1956 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV #4CSA
In 1950 the Rolls-Royce house gave the then Princess Elizabeth a car designed at the request of the Royal House that went into official use when she acceded to the throne. Starting from a more elongated Silver Wraith chassis, close to 6 meters, a powerful engine of 8 cylinders in line allows to move its three tons to the passage in the ceremonial parades and exceed 100 miles per hour when the situation required it.
The gold copper and silver unit on display was one of 18 models commissioned by the Emir of Kuwait in 1955 at a time when the firm was offering “factory” bodies in its Silver Dawn model. The red spotlight under the radiator lit when the dignitary was on board. After the end of the British protectorate in 1964 it became part of the Resnick Motor Museum collection in New York, followed by several decades of owners in the United States until Miguel de la Vía acquired it for his Collection in 1999, where it is imposed by its great height and presence.
In this exclusive series the famous symbol of the brand, the Spirit of Ecstasy, crowns the radiator, in turn inspired by a Greek temple, kneeling and slightly leaning forward perhaps as a sign of respect for the illustrious passengers. Three more copies of this model are preserved in Madrid guarded by the National Heritage.
