1903 Peugeot “Baby” Voiturette Type 54

Presented at the 1901 Paris Motor Show, the Peugeot Baby was a small two-seater with a single-cylinder 652cc, 5 bhp engine that transmitted power to the rear wheels via a three-speed gearbox. In 1903, it was the entry model to the Peugeot range, a family business with more than 200 years of history that began producing kitchen utensils. In 1896, the automobile company was created, after having presented a steam tricycle at the Paris World’s Fair several years earlier.

The photo was taken at the Euskalduna Palace on the occasion of the exhibition “Rolls-Royce: a century of style” where the most representative cars of the Miguel de la Vía Collection were exhibited to compose a story of all the decades of the history of the automobile and its influence on society and culture.
