El Phantom II fue el \u00faltimo de los grandes coches de seis cilindros en ser supervisado en todas las fases de producci\u00f3n por Henry Royce. Desde su lanzamiento, en 1929, sorprendi\u00f3 tanto por el esmerado cuidado en los detalles y en el dise\u00f1o como por su mejorada ingenier\u00eda<\/p>\n

Su m\u00e1s notable diferencia respecto a su antecesor radica en la disposici\u00f3n del chasis. Las modificaciones realizadas sobre los ejes traseros y el tren motriz permitieron que el marco fuera m\u00e1s bajo que antes, lo que permit\u00eda el montaje de elegantes cuerpos con apariencia m\u00e1s ligera y una conducci\u00f3n m\u00e1s estable. El chasis iba equipado con un innovador sistema de lubricaci\u00f3n central y pesaba aproximadamente 3810 libras<\/p>\n

Comparte el motor del Phantom I de seis cilindros y 7668 cc, pero a diferencia de \u00e9ste, el motor est\u00e1 acoplado a la caja de cambios manual de cuatro velocidades. Adem\u00e1s del incremento de potencia respecto a su antecesor, el motor alberga una culata de aluminio que reemplaza a la de hierro colado<\/p>\n

El vistoso modelo de la exposici\u00f3n en aluminio pulido y de interior en cuero rojo est\u00e1 provisto de una capota de lona negra que se despliega entera hacia la parte trasera. Se sujeta por unas varillas de hierro forradas con madera<\/p>\n

La caracter\u00edstica m\u00e1s destacada reside en la nueva posici\u00f3n de las bocinas, el\u00e9ctricas y con forma de cornetas, que abandonan el interior del veh\u00edculo para ser instaladas en la parte inferior frontal.
