Adquirido en 1994, la foto se sit\u00faa en la exitosa exposici\u00f3n \u00ab\u00a0Motion, Autos, Art, Architecture\u00a0\u00bb<\/a> que el arquitecto Norman Foster comisari\u00f3 en 2022 en el museo Guggenheim de Bilbao, donde la Colecci\u00f3n de Miguel de la V\u00eda fue convocada.<\/p>\n

Con su motor de 20CV y poco m\u00e1s de quinientos kilos, el coche alcanzaba unos setenta kil\u00f3metros a la hora mientras la transmisi\u00f3n es de tres marchas, una de ellas marcha atr\u00e1s. La conducci\u00f3n se nos antoja actualmente como complicada ya que la palanca de marcha, las dos palancas en el volante y los tres pedales en el suelo se manejan de un modo diferente al actual.<\/p>\n

Henry Ford ha pasado a la historia de la automoci\u00f3n por implantar en 1913 la ya existente cadena de montaje en la fabricaci\u00f3n del Ford T, cuando ya llevaba cinco a\u00f1os en el mercado. Al abandonar la producci\u00f3n artesanal mejor\u00f3 la productividad reduciendo los costes de fabricaci\u00f3n y, por lo tanto, el precio final de venta, lo que permiti\u00f3 el consumo en masa de un producto hasta entonces inalcanzable. Con una cuota de mercado mundial en los a\u00f1os veinte del cincuenta por ciento, ha sido votado como el veh\u00edculo m\u00e1s importante en la historia del autom\u00f3vil.<\/p>\n

La famosa frase escrita por H. Ford de que \u201ccualquier cliente puede hacer que le pinten el autom\u00f3vil que desee, siempre que sea negro\u201d ten\u00eda su explicaci\u00f3n ya que este pigmento resultaba m\u00e1s barato, aunque s\u00f3lo se ofreci\u00f3 entre 1914 y 1925.<\/p>\n

El modelo tambi\u00e9n tuvo sus momentos de gloria como protagonista en las primeras pel\u00edculas del cine mudo. Ser\u00eda sustituido por el nuevo Ford (1927-1931)\u00a0 tras casi veinte a\u00f1os de producci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
