Era fabricado sobre el mismo chasis que el ingl\u00e9s, pero con menor distancia entre los ejes.<\/p>\n

La producci\u00f3n continuar\u00eda dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s en Am\u00e9rica ya que las modificaciones del Nuevo Phantom requer\u00edan complicadas adaptaciones t\u00e9cnicas, especialmente el traslado del volante al lado izquierdo y de las palancas al centro. La caja de cambios contaba con tres velocidades, en lugar de las cuatro de la versi\u00f3n inglesa. Los modelos americanos presentaban rasgos de mec\u00e1nica inexistentes en los ingleses tales como un sistema de lubricaci\u00f3n central, filtros de aceite desechables, filtro de aire en el carburador y l\u00e1minas de control termost\u00e1tico en el radiador.<\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de los coches se carrozaban en los Estados Unidos y eran catalogados por la asociaci\u00f3n Rolls-Royce Custom Coachwork, que agrupaba a los constructores bajo contrato, siendo Brewster & Co el principal proveedor.<\/p>\n

El modelo sedancalette en amarillo y negro adquirido en 1996 presenta como principal diferencia externa la menor altura del parabrisas, que no es abatible. Se descapota en su totalidad, dejando los marcos de las ventanas r\u00edgidos. Estos pueden ser quitados para adquirir la forma torpedo. Carece de branquias y ventanas de refrigeraci\u00f3n. Los asientos son de cuero negro, sin existir mampara de separaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

En la factor\u00eda de Springfield se construyeron entre 1926 y 1931 un total de 1241 Phantom I equipados con el volante en el lado izquierdo. Aunque la mayor\u00eda de los coches fueron construidos por Brewster, otros distinguidos carroceros como Barker, Mulliner o Park Ward, entre otros, dejaron la impronta de sus creaciones.<\/p>\n
