Esta estructura se dispuso por primera vez en el Bentley MK VI, siendo el Silver Dawn el equivalente en Rolls-Royce, del que se diferencia b\u00e1sicamente en el radiador y distintivos propios de cada marca.\u00a0Incorpora un chasis por separado y caracter\u00edsticas notables como suspensi\u00f3n frontal independiente y frenos hidr\u00e1ulicos delanteros. Este modelo, junto al Silver Wraith, luce habitualmente sobre el radiador una versi\u00f3n arrodillada del \u201cEsp\u00edritu del \u00c9xtasis\u201d introducida al finalizar la Segunda Guerra Mundial.<\/p>\n

Fue destinado particularmente a la exportaci\u00f3n principalmente a clientes americanos que precisaban un chofer para ser conducido. La reducci\u00f3n en su tama\u00f1o cumpl\u00eda las expectativas de los clientes, que reclamaban un coche menos grande de id\u00e9ntico confort. De altura similar, el espacio del habit\u00e1culo no se ve reducido ya que la disminuci\u00f3n de la longitud se hace a expensas del maletero y de la parte delantera.<\/p>\n

El alto porcentaje de Silver Dawn equipados con el volante en posici\u00f3n izquierda se debe a la tard\u00eda comercializaci\u00f3n del modelo en el Reino Unido, en 1953. El a\u00f1o siguiente culminar\u00edan las mejoras con un potente motor de 4,5 litros, un cap\u00f3 m\u00e1s alargado y un voluminoso maletero trasero, junto con cambios en los alerones traseros.<\/p>\n
