Fue el \u00faltimo modelo en ser vendido en forma de chasis ya que su sucesor, el Silver Dawn, se vender\u00eda como coche terminado. Salvo el motor, era casi id\u00e9ntico al \u00faltimo modelo producido antes de la Guerra, el 25\/30 Wraith. Algunas modificaciones introducidas: el uso de ruedas de chapa estampada en vez de las de radios, ajustes en la suspensi\u00f3n delantera y el acortamiento de la distancia entre ejes.<\/p>\n

Utiliz\u00f3 un chasis similar al del Bentley MK VI, aunque con una base m\u00e1s larga y en vez de estructura de acero est\u00e1ndar de la empresa, s\u00f3lo se ofreci\u00f3 en forma del tradicional chasis completo. Otro modelo ofrecido por Bentley tras la guerra es el deportivo Continental R.<\/p>\n

El nuevo motor de seis cilindros de 4.257 cc era de construcci\u00f3n monobloque de hierro fundido con v\u00e1lvula de cilindro de aleaci\u00f3n de aluminio.<\/p>\n

Antes de la guerra, la producci\u00f3n de 1.500 coches al a\u00f1o requer\u00eda un trabajo especializado de carrocer\u00eda, compa\u00f1\u00edas que desaparecieron tras la guerra por retirarse o por incorporarse a la industria aeron\u00e1utica. La empresa se vio obligada a fabricar sus propias carrocer\u00edas empleando carrocer\u00edas de acero estampadas por la empresa Pressed Steel, que no se incorporar\u00edan a la producci\u00f3n en el Reino Unido hasta la fabricaci\u00f3n del modelo Silver Dawn en 1953. El Silver Wraith fue por tanto el \u00faltimo modelo en exhibir diferentes estilos de carrocer\u00eda al ser \u00e9sta fabricada en forma de chasis completo, conjuntamente. En adelante, primar\u00eda el modelo limusina sobre los descapotables.<\/p>\n

Los dise\u00f1os de chasis y motores se diferenciaban en su longitud en el primer caso \u2013largo o corto- y en el n\u00famero de cilindros en el segundo. Tras la guerra Rolls-Royce tom\u00f3 bajo su control a carroceros como Park Ward, que hab\u00eda entrado en su accionariado en 1931 y en 1959 el c\u00e9lebre carrocero H.J. Mulliner & Co Ltd pas\u00f3 a formar parte del consorcio empresarial de la firma, que se fusion\u00f3 con la anterior en 1961 dando lugar a Mulliner Park Ward, que se constituy\u00f3 como departamento de trabajos especiales de Rolls-Royce.<\/p>\n
