La Buick Motor Company fue fundada en Detroit en 1903 por David Buick, un emigrante e inventor escoc\u00e9s, que ya en 1904 se enfrent\u00f3 a graves problemas financieros. Para paliar la situaci\u00f3n, contrat\u00f3 al ingeniero William C. Durant, que logr\u00f3 que sus pilotos cosecharan grandes \u00e9xitos con los potentes motores Buick en circuitos como el de Indian\u00e1polis, en fechas tan tempranas como 1908-1910<\/p>\n

Los primeros Buick \u2013comercializados sobre todo en Estados Unidos y Canad\u00e1- son puestos a la venta en 1904, con un nivel t\u00e9cnico m\u00e1s que aceptable para la \u00e9poca. Ya a primeros de siglo, fueron los primeros en fabricar motores con v\u00e1lvulas en cabeza<\/p>\n

En 1908 se construy\u00f3 una variante m\u00e1s larga del Buick S, el modelo presente en la exposici\u00f3n. Por entonces, ya era m\u00e1s grande fabricante de coches de Estados Unidos, por delante de sus competidores Ford y Cadillac. Este \u00e9xito llev\u00f3 a W.C. Durant a constituir la General Motors, formando parte Buick como socio fundador<\/p>\n
