El presente ejemplar fue elegido entre otros Countach como Coche de Seguridad en el Gran Premio de M\u00f3naco de 1982. En la parte trasera exhibe el n\u00famero LP 5000S en vez de 500 ya que en Estados Unidos se les asignaba este n\u00famero. En la colecci\u00f3n desde 1997 procedente de Munich.<\/p>\n<p>En 1971 se concibi\u00f3 que el sucesor del Miura tendr\u00eda que ser un modelo revolucionario, con su potente motor y una altura inferior a 1\u201910 metros, adaptado al gusto de una clientela que valoraba la exclusividad y la tecnolog\u00eda. Se incorporaron muchas mejoras t\u00e9cnicas al anterior modelo pero es en el dise\u00f1o donde se aprecia el contraste de la elegancia de las l\u00edneas redondeadas del Miura con las l\u00edneas rectas del Countach. La configuraci\u00f3n de las puertas de tijera o \u201ccole\u00f3ptero\u201d patentadas por Lamborghini, la l\u00ednea baja angulosa y afilada en forma de cu\u00f1a o los caracter\u00edsticos faros escamoteables le confer\u00edan una est\u00e9tica futurista alejada del resto de las marcas.<\/p>\n<p>Lamborghini invirti\u00f3 tres a\u00f1os de sucesivos cambios mec\u00e1nicos en el Countach hasta llegar a ser un veh\u00edculo de producci\u00f3n. El c\u00f3digo de designaci\u00f3n del primer prototipo fue Proyecto 112, que eran las tres cifras del n\u00famero de serie de cada veh\u00edculo. Posteriormente se adopt\u00f3 el nombre LP500 para designar el prototipo. En 1973 se present\u00f3 en el Sal\u00f3n de Ginebra el LP400, presentando varias diferencias respecto al anterior. La primera unidad del Countach fue entregada en Mil\u00e1n en 1974, 157 unidades hasta 1978, momento en el que se gest\u00f3 una nueva versi\u00f3n del Countach, el LP400S, m\u00e1s alejado de las l\u00edneas originales de Gandini y con opci\u00f3n al gran aler\u00f3n trasero en forma de V.<\/p>\n<p>El LP500S de 1982 se lanz\u00f3 para competir con el Ferrari Boxer potenciando el motor en relaci\u00f3n a los anteriores. La introducci\u00f3n de anchos neum\u00e1ticos obligar\u00eda a redise\u00f1ar la suspensi\u00f3n y la altura del techo y a proceder al montaje opcional de un espectacular aler\u00f3n trasero. El motor se remodel\u00f3 con cambios en la cilindrada y con un aumento de los carburantes. En Estados Unidos el anagrama trasero mostraba la leyenda 5000S y fue por esa \u00e9poca cuando protagoniz\u00f3 la pel\u00edcula de \u201cLos locos de Cannonball\u201d,\u00a0 y hasta 1983 fueron los coches de seguridad en el Gran Premio de F\u00f3rmula 1 de M\u00f3naco.
